All quiet on the Stockholm front

Hmmm, seems I have been a bit quiet recently. Just realised that I have not posted anything for more than a week now.

The apartment renovation is entering its final stages (after some 20 weeks!) and we’re actually started to live a “normal” life now. We moved the boys into their new bedroom on Saturday, we moved into our bedroom on Monday evening and the kitchen should (largely) be ready to use in a day or two. It feels very odd just to be us in here, rather than having four or five guys working on the place during the day. It’s a feeling I could get used to though!

Baby E has decided to up his repertoire of tricks to include standing up against furniture, which is great fun. And Little O is starting to feel a little pressure as his baby brother can now grab most of his toys.

Photo 366 challenge – week 27

Right, I am going to do this and get this posted and add myself to the linky over at The Boy And Me. Yep, I am; I really am.

This week has flown by but still Monday seems like an age ago. We signed the paperwork and got the keys to our new apartment on that day and since then it has all been about the renovation work. Most days have seen Husband and I rushing around the city, looking at flooring, paint samples, electrical sockets and more, but with some fun times in the afternoons after picking up Little O from preschool. We’ve been enjoying the sunshine here in Stockholm, playing in the sandpit in our apartment block’s garden and wearing out the swings at the local playground.

Little O has also had fun trying on my shoes and completing his new Lightning McQueen jigsaw puzzle (“Keen! Keen!”).

A little celebration on Monday

Urgh, it’s been a long time since I posted anything – naughty me. We had a two and a half week break during June and visited my family in England, which is my excuse. And now that we are back in Stockholm, all we are doing and thinking about is our new apartment. We got the keys on Monday morning and a couple of hours later, the builders arrived to start work on the renovation project. And it is some project, with rewiring, a new kitchen, a cupboard being knocked through in the master bedroom as well as repainting throughout, wallpapering in some rooms, all the woodwork and doors being sanded back, repaired and repainted. Hmmm, I think that is “all”…!

I’m going to try and keep on with the daily photo project but I’ve decided to stop posting on the 365 Project website as that combined with uploading the photos to my English Mamma photo blog and then creating a weekly post of them here (hmmm, have not caught up with that yet!) is just a little bit too much when Husband and I are making daily trips to the new place to look at the progress and make decisions on what needs to be done. In addition, from Monday, Little O will be home with me for three weeks, so I expect that we’ll be out and about most days doing fun things for the summer holidays.
