Week 23 – goodbye, exhaustion!

How far along? 23 weeks and 4 days, so nearing the end of the second trimester (really? Wow, time is just flying by)

Total weight gain/loss: About five and half kilos. I think that is okay – I hope that is okay!

Stretch marks?: Not yet, but then I feel as if gyermek has finished a bit of a growth spurt and that my belly will stay the same size for a few weeks now. (Or is this just wishful thinking…?)

Sleep: Some nights good, some nights bad. I’ve started getting cramp at night again, which is a great big pain, but so far, it’s not too bad. However, some nights, I just don’t feel tired at all.

Best moment this week: Sitting outside in the sunshine (the day before October!) and chatting with a pregnant friend.

Worst moment this week: Probably that some of the side effects of the iron tablets have appeared. However, I’m going to carry on with them, because the benefits are just so good – goodbye, exhaustion!

Movement: Yes, lots, and not just low down now. Sometimes it feels like gyermek is running a marathon in there.

Belly button in or out?: Still in – yippee!

What I miss: Not sure that I feel like I’m missing out on anything this week because I’m pregnant. Perhaps the disappearance of the feelings of exhaustion are making me more positive?

What I am looking forward to: Hmm, not sure. Cannot think of anything off the top of my head that is due to happen in the next few weeks.

Milestones: We’ve spent this weekend cleaning up our Teutonia stroller, so we can sell it on. We’ve bought a luverly iCandy Peach Blossom stroller for Little O and gyermek to share. So, the Teutonia will be listed on Blocket soon.

Week 21 – banana

Apparently, gyermek is now the length of a banana.

I knew that I would pop out earlier with this second baby than I did with Little O, but I’ve also read that this slows down in the middle of the pregnancy, allowing the first timers to catch up.

Hmmm, not happened yet. I’m almost scared to look at how little my belly looked this stage last time around!

Watermelon

In week 38 the baby is the same size as a watermelon… a big wriggly, squiggly watermelon, in this case.

Bread bin

According to Parents Connect, the baby is almost the same size as a bread bin in week 36.

But which one?

Roll on May!

Babies born in May are on average 200 grams heavier than babies born in other months

Week 34 update

How far along?: 34 weeks and 5 days

Total weight gain/loss: Something over 11 kilos – some days more, some days less

Stretch marks?: Still cannot see any, but they could be lurking on the underside of my belly where I cannot spot them. The L’Occitane oil is relief to my stretched skin though

Sleep: Not the best – gyermek has now found his/her sleeping pattern and unfortunately this does not involve sleep between the hours of 3am and 5.30am.

Best moment this week: Finding out at my midwife appointment on Monday that gyermek’s growth is back on track according to that funny little graph they have, and then realising halfway through the day today that it was Friday and that that meant dessert in the canteen – cappucino mousse this week (is three helpings too many?).

Worst moment this week: Itching skin all across my belly and gyermek does not like it when I scratch my belly (well, I guess I wouldn’t either).

Movement: Oh, yes…

Belly button in or out?: In and I hope it remains that way

What I miss: Not really sure this week; nothing I can put my finger on.

What I am looking forward to: A relaxing weekend and a lovely pregnancy massage at Centralbadet on Sunday afternoon.

Milestones: Managing to convince Husband that we need to have the nursery finished by the time gyermek arrives, so we change change him or her in there. (This might not sound like much of a milestone, but believe me, it truly is.)

Pumpkin

In week 34, the baby is the same size as a pumpkin (and this I can well believe…).

A4 paper

I’ve just read that in week 32, the baby is the same length as a sheet of A4 paper (they must mean from head to toe – yes, I did try holding up a piece of A4 to my belly to check!)
