Thank you! Yep, Little O is certainly displaying some willpower - you should have heard the screams when the girl had to scan the tag on that vest. In fact, I'd be surprised if you didn't hear them all the way over in the UK...!

No fear of that, I can assure you! I really don't "do" pain and am a complete baby, so I am sure that antibiotics would have spelled the end of breastfeeding for me and Baby E.
Poor you - you had a terrible time. That's just horrendous to be in so much pain.
I think what surprised me most was how quickly this came on, with no warning. I am so worried about blocked ducts that I am in the lookout but I didn't have any signs this time, just *bam* mastitis.

Thanks, Alex! Poor you - I can sympathise and can only begin to imagine what you must have gone through to end up on antibiotics. I think I've been very lucky to catch it in time and avoid that. It would have been the nail in my breastfeeding coffin too, I'm sure.

Oh well done you! I admire you for persevering. I got mastitus at 3 weeks post-partum and was completely blocked, couldn't get a thing out. The doctor told me to just stop and gave me antibiotics and painkillers. I couldn't even hold The Boy I was in so much pain.

Keep at it missus, but don't be a martyr!

I'm glad you're feeling better.. Mastitis is evil. I had it two (or was it three?) times when I was bf in both breasts each time. I felt so so ill. I did end up on antibotics. For me it was the nail in the coffin for BF, but we were having other problems as well...

Anyway, I'm glad you got to the Drs and I'm glad you're on the mend.

Thanks, Paula! He constantly finds new and interesting positions in which to sleep. Husband and I say each night that we're "just going in to check on him" but really we just want to see what new angle he's managed to get into!
