I’m on a bit of a learning kick at the moment, and it’s really helping me to feel more positive. I’ve always loved reading into different topics and learning new skills, so this feels like another step in the right direction in getting my productivity back again.
- I have been enrolling on lots of different short courses on all different topics (html and coding, linguistics in the workplace and mindfulness among them), so it has been a little piecemeal but now I have read that this is actually the secret to better learning. Funny to think that I had been doing this without knowing it.
- The fact that I am getting things done (or GSD) is another sign that I am getting back on track. One thing that has helped is this article about the two-minute rule. Based on Newton’s first theory of motion (that objects in motion tend to stay in motion and those at rest tend to stay at rest), this suggests just starting something for two minutes. Because once you have started, you’re likely to carry on with it.
- I bought a juicer earlier this year (or maybe even late last year) but I’ve not been using it recently. This beetroot juice recipe has nudged my memory about juicing though- it looks delicious! – and I’m going to get my juicing hat back on this weekend.
- I cannot remember how I stumbled over this video interview with Anna Wintour but I think it (and she) is fabulous. She seems to have a pretty dry sense of humour, which I just love.
